"I Know You Used AI to Write This"(and How to Fix It)

A human writer teaching AI to sound more Human.

You can spot a generic AI-written LinkedIn post from a mile away. Perfect grammar. Zero point of view.

Honestly, most of my clients ask me to help them sound less like a robot and to set them apart from the flood of AI generated content.

Here’s what I tell them to do: (Feel free to edit the prompts to fit your needs.)

Prompt 1 – Draft with Structure

“Act as my content editor. This will be used for a LinkedIn post aimed at small business and nonprofit leaders who are overwhelmed by AI. Turn these bullet thoughts into a post with:

·  A hook in 1–2 lines

·  3–5 short, punchy lines in the body

·  One simple takeaway

·  Don’t add stuff I didn’t say.”

Then I paste raw notes: client stories, workshop questions, objections I hear every week.

Prompt 2 – De-Robotic Filter

“Now rewrite this in my voice:

·  Keep the same ideas

·  Shorten any cliché phrases

·  Make it sound like something I’d say to a client in a Zoom call

·  Keep a little imperfection—this is a human, not a brochure.”

I tell AI that I'm not a Pulitzer Prize winner so don't sound like one. And then the part that most do not do: I go back and edit it myself. For like two to five minutes.

I know my role.  AI gives the structure and speed. I add the scar tissue and point of view.

The real flex in 2026 won’t be using AI. Because more and more leaders are using it.  It’ll be to sound like you didn’t.
