AI Fluency is no Longer Optional

I've been saying this for some time now. If you needed proof that AI fluency has moved from "nice to have" to "non-negotiable," look no further than what's happening inside one of the world's most prestigious professional services firms.
PwC's US CEO Paul Griggs just sent a clear message to his 65,000-person workforce: get AI-fluent or get replaced. His exact words — "I don't think anyone gets a free pass here. Anyone."
This isn't a tech startup talking. This is one of the most traditional, established firms in the world drawing a hard line.
PwC is backing it up with action — $1 billion invested in AI capabilities, mandatory AI training at every level, and a deliberate shift away from the billable-hours model toward AI-powered, subscription-based services. They're hiring more engineers than accountants now.
If it's happening there, it's coming everywhere.
AI fluency isn't about becoming a data scientist. It's about knowing how AI fits your business — where it adds leverage, where it needs guardrails, and how to lead your team through the shift with confidence.
There is no opting out. The only question is whether you get ahead of it or get left behind.
Ready to map out your AI fluency path? Let's talk. Drop a comment, send me a message, or book time with me directly. The window to get ahead of this is still open — but it won't be forever. Email Steven at swriston@pptconsultingservices.com or schedule a free consultation.
